23 Syrians killed in Israeli strike on Lebanese town
At least 23 people, all Syrian and predominantly women and children, died in a strike on a three-story building in the Lebanese town of Younine late Wednesday, according to Mayor Ali Qusas, who spoke to Reuters.
Qusas also reported that eight additional people were wounded.
There have been a couple of recent air strikes in the Tyre area in Lebanon. That adds to five that took place earlier Thursday.
"Israeli air strikes are extending to every area of Lebanon. That’s what we saw Wednesday, and that’s what’s been happening today. There are reports [of strikes] from Hermel to the northeast and Nabatiyeh towards the southeast," Al Jazeera correspondent Ali Hashem reported from Tyre.
Despite discussions about a truce, on the ground, things are still not changing, he said.
